House Manual Builder

A good house manual answers the questions guests would otherwise message you about at 10 p.m.: how the heating works, where the trash goes, what to do if the breaker trips. Tick what your property has and add a few notes, and this builder produces an organized manual you can paste into Airbnb’s house manual field, a digital guidebook or a printed binder. Passwords and codes stay as placeholders.

How it works

The manual is assembled in the order guests usually need things: Wi-Fi first, then the systems that cause the most questions (heat, trash, parking), then amenity-specific instructions for only the amenities you tick, then safety, then checkout. Every amenity block includes the basic safety lines guests expect, such as supervision near pools and hot tubs.

Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere. Wi-Fi passwords and codes are placeholders so the finished text can be shared safely.

Making the manual useful

  • Write instructions for the 10 p.m. guest: tired, in an unfamiliar house, maybe in the dark.
  • Add photos where words struggle, such as the breaker panel or the hot tub controls, in your digital guidebook or printed binder.
  • Don’t repeat house rules here. Under Airbnb’s policy, rules and requests belong in the house rules section of the listing.
