Booking.com Commission Calculator

Booking.com doesn’t publish one commission rate. Yours depends on your country, property type and any programmes you join, and it’s set out in your contract and extranet. Enter that rate, any extra programme commission, a Genius discount if you offer one and whether you use Payments by Booking.com, and the calculator shows what a reservation costs you and what you keep.

Platform information verified: November 2026 · Booking.com commission varies by country and property type and is set in your contract. Payments by Booking.com costs 1.1%–3.1% of the reservation value. Sources: Booking.com Partner Hub – commission, Payments by Booking.com costs

How it works

Room revenue = price per night × nights × (1 − Genius discount)
Commission base = room revenue + fees (+ taxes if your contract includes them)
Commission = base × (commission rate + programme commission)
Payment charges = (room revenue + fees + taxes) × payments fee, if used
You keep = room revenue + fees − commission − VAT − payment charges

Genius discount cost is the room revenue you give up compared with your undiscounted price. It isn’t a fee, but it’s a real cost of the programme, so it’s shown separately.

How to read your results

Look at total cost, not just commission. A programme that adds a few points of commission, or a Genius discount, can be worth it if it brings bookings you wouldn’t otherwise get. Compare against how many extra nights it actually fills.

Check commission on cancellations. Booking.com can charge commission on non-refundable bookings, late cancellations you charge for and no-shows, so a cancellation-heavy month can still carry commission.

Keep the rate current. Your contract rate and programme terms are in the extranet. Update the fields when they change.

Illustrative example

Three nights at $180 with a $60 cleaning fee is a $600 reservation. At 15% commission the cost is $90, and Payments by Booking.com at 1.5% adds $9. You keep about $501, a 16.5% total cost. With a 10% Genius discount the room revenue drops by $54 and you keep about $456.

Common questions

What commission does Booking.com charge?

There isn’t a single published rate. Booking.com says it varies by country, property type and location, and programmes like Genius, Preferred Partner or Visibility Booster can increase it. Your rate is in your contract and extranet.

Do I pay commission if a guest cancels?

It depends on the booking. Booking.com charges commission on non-refundable bookings, cancellations after the free period if you charge the guest, and no-shows you charge. Check your invoice details in the extranet.
